I found myself deeply concerned with the state of the city.

The relationship between staff, council and community; the lack of transparency and governance that is informed by this important, and yet delicate relationship.

Concerned with what it means to be a good steward and ancestor, and what the future of Boulder will inherit because of the choices we do, or don’t make today.

I’ve always felt and believef that I do not want my daughters fight to be the things I decided were too hard today.

I want a place where we are not referred to as voiceless, or relegated to the sidelines as other people claim to represent and speak for us.

Equity and diversity isn’t a yard sign, its system’s design. Its being intentional every single day, even when mistakes are made - learning to design more inclusively takes practice, collaboration and commitment.

I/ we can speak for and represent ourselves. We are not voiceless so I am happy to be in this moment to remind everyone that we are and will always be here.
